Introduction

Note: this page only catalogs third-party open-source projects and links to their official repositories; it neither develops, hosts nor distributes any software and assumes no liability. These are independent, open-source works written from the ground up, unaffiliated with and not authorized by any third-party commercial software or its maker; any third-party names, formats or trademarks are referenced for interoperability and description only.

CADCraft is a free, open-source computer-aided design and drafting (CAD) app, written from scratch in Rust with a familiar engineering-drafting workflow. Great for floor plans, part drawings and architectural/mechanical drafts.

What it lets you do:

  • A familiar professional drafting flow: a command line, object snaps (auto-snap to endpoints/intersections/midpoints), layer management, dimensions, hatches and blocks.
  • Read and write DXF drawings — the industry-standard format for exchanging drawings with other CAD tools.
  • Model space plus layout plotting: paper-space viewports and page setups, export to PDF, with title blocks, section hatching and multiline text.

Product highlights:

  • Native, pure Rust: light and cross-platform, no Windows dependency and no cloud required.
  • Agent-drivable via MCP and CLI.
  • Still in early development.

Team & tech: built by the community ArtCraft team (GitHub user storytold, site getartcraft.com); the Craft series is 100% pure Rust with an egui UI, an independent open-source work unaffiliated with any third-party commercial software.

Platforms: macOS, Windows, Linux, FreeBSD, and a browser (WebAssembly) build.
